Classification of MVB Devices

 

  • Class 0 devices: Do not participate in application data exchange, such as repeaters and star couplers.

  • Class 1 devices: Have device status performance and process data (PD) performance.

  • Class 2 devices: Have device status performance, process data performance, and message data performance (MD).

  • Class 3 devices: Have device status performance, PD, MD, and user - programmable performance.

  • Class 4 devices: Have device status performance, PD, MD, and bus manager performance.

  • Class 5 devices: Have device status performance, PD, MD, and TCN gateway performance. Class 5 devices may also have bus manager performance.
