Consist Network Address Management
The Consist network address can be configured statically or dynamically using DHCP.
If dynamic configuration via DHCP is used, the ECN needs to have a DHCP server. The location of the DHCP server depends on the implementation and can be any End Device or Network Device. It is recommended to be the TBN. The DHCP server should have redundant backups.
Static Address Configuration Parameters
The static configuration parameters of the End Device must include: Hostname, IPv4 address, IPv4 address mask; if DNS is used, it must also include the Default domain name and IPv4 DNS server address.
DHCP Configuration Parameters
If DHCP is used, the main DHCP parameters to be configured are as follows: Subnet mask, Router option, IP address lease time, DHCP message type, Server Identifier, Parameter request list, and other parameters are selected according to the situation.
IP Management during TBN Redundancy and Backup
The ECN may be connected to the train backbone network through multiple TBNs to achieve redundancy and backup.
If there is a redundant TBN group and the redundant TBN group implements the routing function between the ECN and the train backbone network, then the TBN group has a common IP address for the ECN network. When a new TBN is selected as the Active router, the TBN will send a gratuitous ARP to refresh the ARP table of the ED.
