The application types of MVB communication generally include: MVB master station devices, MVB simulation testing, MVB slave station devices, and MVB bus data acquisition.
MVB master station devices: Devices of class 4 or higher categories must be selected, which support the function of the bus manager. Special software is often required to assist in allocating the timing of the entire bus.
MVB simulation testing: It is used to debug and test the MVB communication interface of devices in the laboratory. An MVB analyzer should be selected, which can simulate the MVB master station and at least achieve the functions of sending and receiving MVB process data, scanning and monitoring the device status.
MVB slave station devices: Most train devices are MVB slave stations, and usually, the functions of class 1 devices are sufficient to meet the application requirements. Users can select MVB slave station network cards, converters, or gateways according to the characteristics of the devices.
MVB bus data acquisition: Network cards or modules with MVB data acquisition function need to be selected. They are required to be able to receive data from all PD ports and must operate in the read-only mode to avoid interfering with the normal operation of other devices on the bus.
