Selection Guide for MVB Network Cards

The selection steps for MVB network cards are as follows:

1 Determine the MVB functions required for the network card: Check whether it is necessary to support the bus manager (master station function). If it is a slave station, it is necessary to determine whether the number of supported PD (Process Data) meets the requirements.

2 Determine the medium type of the MVB interface: Determine whether the type of MVB bus medium used is EMD (Electrical Medium Distance) or ESD (Electrical Short Distance).

3 Determine whether the structural form is external or embedded: If it is external, select gateway or converter products. If it is embedded, select modules or network cards.

4 Finally, determine the interface type of the host computer: Select an appropriate MVB network card according to whether the interface of the host computer is CAN, serial port, or network port. If the acquisition function needs to be implemented, it is recommended to select a network port.
